Aleksandre Jikia about Chavchavadze Center projects

Although I had often heard about the 90s from family members, and thought I knew a lot about the period, the impression was totally different. I had a feeling that I personally went through the experience shown in the films. Probably this is the intended effect of these movies. They should be seen by lots more people of my age, to know everything, analyze and understand what happened, how and why. That said, I think that only knowledge of recent history won’t bring us anything. The main thing is to understand the past, see parallels with present and plan our future according to the lessons learned. Needless to say, I don’t want to go through the same ordeal as my parents. Helping us achieve that goal is one of the reasons for making and screening of these movies and related discussions led by the Chavchavadze Center.
