Film screening and discussion at the University of Georgia

On December 22, another film screening and discussion was held at the University of Georgia. The screening was dedicated to 30th anniversary of the start of the military coup d’état in Georgia. The Chavchavadze Center's three films produced within the framework of Project "Civic Memory" - "Gocha Esebua", "Entry of Admiral Baltin" and "Extrajudicial Executions" were shown. The screening was attended by students and academic staff from University of Georgia as well as other universities. Our Guest speaker for the event was a historian Beka Kobakhidze.

It has been three years since Project "Youth for Justice with Zaza Bibilashvili" is being carried out by the Chavchavadze Center with the generous support of the Dutch D66 and IDI. During this time, dozens of screenings and discussions have been held in various regions and educational institutions of Georgia. Within the framework of the project, the Center cooperates with higher educational institutions, public and private schools as well as local NGOs. Project “Civic Memory” is supported by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation South Caucasus Bureau.
