Project Common Sense - Civil Society Vis-à-Vis Politics

The Project “Common Sense: Civil Society Vis-à-Vis Politics” was launched in July 2019. Dozens of events were held throughout Georgia, with more than 250 participants from across the country. The participants attended lectures and masterclasses on the following topics:

  • Georgia’s Contemporary Foreign Policy, Eastern Partnerships and prospects of Euro-Atlantic Integration
  • Why West? – Values, Obligations and Historical Perspective
  • The Challenges of Changing Global, Regional and National Security and Stability
  • The European Union, Democratic Institutions and Sustainable Development
  • Law and Order – the Present and the Future of the Georgian Judicial System
  • Economic Policy – How to Encourage Rapid, Sustainable and Socially Responsible Economic Growth
  • Media Psychology, Information Literacy and Civic Education
  • Culture and Identity
  • Communication with Donors
  •  Public Speaking and the Art of Debate

Each event included lectures, masterclasses and practical workshops. After the session on public speaking, the participants were invited to join mock debates, where they were able to discuss the topic most relevant to their regional challenges.

The project “Common Sense and Citizenship vis-à-vis Politics” is made possible with the generous support from the Konrad Adenauer South Caucasus Foundation.
