Research fellow of the Chavchavadze Center, Giga Jokhadze, has participated in Duke Wenceslas Future Leaders Program organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Czechia. The program was held on September 16-25 in Prague and other cities in Czechia. In the program, 10 young leaders represented 8 respective countries (Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Kosovo, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Turkey).
"I had an amazing opportunity to meet decision-makers of Czechia, including foreign minister Jan Lipavský, deputy minister of foreign affairs - Jan Marian, several representatives from the Chamber of Deputies, the President of the Czech Senate - Miloš Vystrčil, and vice-president of the Czech Senate - Tomáš Czernin. I have also met representatives from several government agencies and think tanks. Hosts introduced us to the Czech Republic and the country's main domestic and foreign policy directions and engaged in interesting discussions with participants. I consider Czechia a prime example of successful Euro-Atlantic integration and I think that Georgia should learn from Czech experience in that regard. I would like to thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Czechia for launching this wonderful program and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Georgia for nominating me as a participant from Georgia".
